Fifty Y9 pupils have successfully completed the Duke of Edinburgh Award, they completed a training day, practice expedition and final assessed expedition. Click on the links below to see images of the pupils completing each section.

The pupils faced contrasting weather this year. They experienced monsoon like rain on the practice leading to the met office issuing a severe weather warning and walking to be cancelled on the second day. The assessed expedition in June was one of the hottest on record, equipped with large amounts of sun cream and water the pupils all passes showing great determination and considerable organisational and navigational skills.

Following the assessed expedition pupils were required to produce a written log, explaining their experiences, including their route cards, maps items carried and food. The quality of the logs produced is of such a high standard that we are displaying them in the main foyer for all to view.
