Market research is a tool that helps organisations to find out customers’ needs. Market research methods include:

Postal Surveys

Surveys are sent through the post in order to retreive information about the needs of the customer. The customer fills in the questionnaire and then returns it in the envelope provided.

 

 

Telephone Questionnaires

A market research compnay may ring and then ask a questionnaire over the phone in order to retreive information about the needs of the customer. The customer answers the questions over the phone.

 

Personel Surveys

These are questionnaires on a one to one basis, where an interviewer will ask questions to a single person.

 

Observation

Individuals are observed to see their reactions to certain products or services so that information can be gained as to how good the products or service is .

 

Internet

This is were information is received through the Internet and customers and products and services. It could be monitoring what a person does on the Internet or even a questionnaire filled in online.
