Welcome to the web site for Leisure and Tourism at Ribblesdale. This is a 2 year course and is an applied GCSE. This means that is will be worth two GCSE's at the end of the course. It is based more on vocational work with means that we try to make it more work related than other GCSE's. We take pupils out on visits to various business and leisure and tourism attractions (see photos below).

The course is split into 3 units; Unit one about the Leisure and Tourism Industry, Unit Two which focuses on Marketing and Unit Three which looks at Customer Service. Each of the these modules counts 33% towards your final grade. Units two and three are based on portfolio assessment which is completed in class, and unit one is based on an examination which can be taken at three points throughout the course. You can resit this exam in order to gain a better mark, with your highest mark counting towards your qualification.
