March 2008. It was a really busy meeting this time, with over 20 reading group members talking about their favourite 'Year of Reading' choices so far for 15 different categories, such as scariest book, life-changing book, most exciting plot, character you'd like to be etc etc. By the end we'd drawn up an excellent list of recommended titles and series. You can check it out here.

October 2007 The group celebrated National Poetry Day by "speed-dating" a selection of poems, written by poets ranging from William Shakespeare to Allan Ahlberg. Once members had spent a minute with each one, they had to choose which poem they'd like to spend more time with. Finally, members shared their personal favourite with the group.

July 2007. The Group rounded off a brilliant reading year by putting their Library-searching skills to the test in a treasure hunt.
|
March 2007. The Reading Group's Easter meeting focussed on the fantasy genre. A survey of 24 of the best young people's fantasy titles revealed that within the group, we'd already read 14 of them. The ones which most members hadn't read but would like to include 'Magyk' by Angie Sage, 'Pure dead Brilliant' by Debi Gliori and 'The secret Country' by Jane Johnson.
