| NVQ French (levels 1 & 2) |
| The aim of the course is to provide the student with basic linguistic skills. NVQ language units have been formulated by people who represent employers and language providers. Students are assessed in the four skill areas but instead of sitting a final examination they complete a series of tasks which show that they have satisfied certain criteria. |
| Work can be assessed at any time and students are not obliged to present work in every skill area, which may be of benefit to those pupils who have a statement of Special Educational Needs which disapplies them from writing a foreign language. Levels of attainment are in line with National Language Standards. |
|
|
| Entry Level Certificate |
| Less able pupils are able to study topics such as Self and Family, Shopping, School, Occupations and Food and Drink. The language is very accessible and pupils are assessed at the end of each unit. Pupils can achieve an Entry Level Certificate at either Level 2 (Merit) or Level 3 (Distinction). |
